Position Title: Head of Technology Consulting & Delivery

What started with foundations laid by MIT researchers is now a full-blown technology forecasting system. By equipping innovators with data-driven technological foresight, we help them make the right investment decisions and innovate faster.

We typically work with R&D leaders at organizations such as BASF, Renault, AlfaLaval, and Reckitt, but also with the US Navy and other government institutions. Our clients have access to our SaaS platform and a managed/consultancy service where our analyst team creates strategic insights on demand.

About the role: In the managed service part of our business, we have a team of analysts who are executing projects on our clients' behalf. These projects always revolve around answering strategic technology questions. Examples are: Which battery chemistry will dominate the future of EV's? Or, which type of electrolyzer will dominate the future of hydrogen production? These projects are ran on behalf of senior R&D decision-makers in our client base, typically C- or VP/ SVP level, and their teams.

The managed service/consulting part of our business is growing fast and we are looking for an experienced consultant to lead this department. We are looking for someone who can own the delivery of these projects to clients, who can manage, coach, and develop our team of analysts, and who can manage multiple projects at a time with high standards.

Having the ability to communicate complex insights clearly to senior decision-makers is key for this role.

We are looking for someone who will not just take this role in the present but can grow with it as we further scale our client portfolio and the team grows in size.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading & Scaling our team of analysts:

• Making sure project goals are clearly defined and that our analysts' efforts are aligned with client goals
• Coaching and mentoring our analysts for further development
• Continuously improving the insight-gathering, synthesis, and delivery process

Strategy Consulting:

• Helping clients scope their strategic technology questions and creating a plan with our analyst team for execution
• Synthesizing analyst insights into clear, easy-to-understand deliverables for clients
• Presenting insights in client meetings to senior decision-makers

Project management:

• Managing multiple projects simultaneously and keeping a structured overview of analyst efforts and progress
• Making sure all deliverables are ready on time and keeping an overview of deliverables and timelines
• Further optimizing and standardizing the insight-gathering and delivery process

Main KPIs for the role: Client NPS and Net Revenue Retention

Key Skills and Qualifications needed to be successful in this role:

• Experience and Background:
• At least 5 years of consulting experience for senior decision-makers, ideally within deep tech, or R&D-focused roles
• A technical background, both bachelors and masters
• Strong background in project management while leading a team of analysts
• Excellent English skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to produce high-quality deliverables
• Strong leadership skills with the ambition and ability to develop & mentor a team of analysts

• Profile of the Ideal Candidate:
• You like to get your hands dirty: The ideal candidate is innovative with a strategic mindset, yet has a hands-on approach to execution
• You have high standards: You cannot stand it when deliverables are sub-par and take pride in keeping high standards for you and your team
• You keep the overview: You like to create lists and have a good overview of all moving parts
• Experience with patent data: Many of our insights are generated based on patent data. We don't expect you to be a patent expert, but some experience would be preferred
• You love and have experience with GenAI: Everything we do is powered by AI. The ideal candidate has lots of AI experience and cannot imagine a life without using it every day
