We’re looking for a Research Analyst to deliver customer projects using our AI tool that predicts the technological future. Typically in this role, you will create technology forecasts for senior R&D leaders across various industries, from luxury consumer goods and energy companies to cancer therapeutics research labs.

GetFocus is a Rotterdam, Netherlands-based company that helps R&D leaders predict the technological future through our AI-powered SaaS platform called Odin. With the platform, one can anticipate technological disruption and make strategic investments in emerging technologies. A crucial part of our operations is the managed service where analysts use the AI platform to generate insights for senior R&D leaders such that they can make better investment decisions.

What you'll do in this role

• Operate our AI platform and other AI tools to generate insights about emerging technologies
• Insights typically consist of:
• Scouting all emerging competing technologies in the area of interest for the customer
• Comparing the performance of technologies for various use cases
• Forecasting which emerging technologies will win in the future for the use case of the customer
• Doing deep dives on promising technology areas
• Create deliverables for customers. Deliverables typically consist of executive summaries in the form of slides and datasets which are created on the AI platform itself (can also be shared in Excel sheets)
• Have weekly meetings with senior R&D leaders alongside the head of technology consulting to present your findings

We're looking for

• An analytical mindset with a good understanding of data analysis and statistics.
• Technical background (or a degree in engineering), preferably with completed courses in basic statistics.
• Passion for working with data and an interest in emerging technologies and global trends
• Proficiency and an interest in generative AI
• Familiarity with Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc)
• Someone who is result-oriented has an innate sense of autonomy and responsibility.
• Someone with high standards and who takes pride in delivering only the best.
• Experience in working efficiently with a team.
• Proactiveness and openness to share ideas on improving the processes, approaches, team cooperation, and tools
• Ability to learn quickly
• Excellent English skills
