About GetFocus: The technological future is more predictable than you think. What started with foundations laid by MIT researchers is now a full-blown technology forecasting system. By equipping innovators with data-driven technological foresight, we help them make the right investment decisions and innovate faster.
We typically work with R&D leaders and CTO offices at large organisations in various industries, such as Renault, Procter and Gamble, LVMH, BASF, Shell and Reckitt, but also with the US Navy and other government institutions. Our clients have access to our SaaS platform and a managed service where our analyst team creates complete technology analysis on behalf of our clients.
About the role: The majority of our lead generation currently comes from client referrals and (ad-hoc) participation at industry events. Building upon that, we have laid the foundation for our go-to-market strategy, sales process, product materials, content publications, and event participation.
After revenue growth of 400% in the last 12 months, we are now at the stage where we are ready to professionalize and scale our marketing efforts to achieve wider brand awareness and a repeatable inflow of leads.
The Head of Marketing will be responsible for building this marketing engine.
As we work in a highly knowledge-driven market with an analytical solution, we expect you to be able to actively ensure creative and persuasive marketing content out of our research efforts and platform features.
Given the stage of our company, it is important that you understand the full marketing spectrum, particularly building brand awareness, demand generation and account-based marketing in an enterprise environment with contract values of 6 and 7 figures.
Key Responsibilities
Positioning and Brand Awareness:
- Develop and execute a sharp value positioning for our ICPs
- Work closely with the team to maintain a consistent cadence of insight generation and other content that highlights our expertise and insights.
- Develop and execute strategies to increase brand awareness through social media, video marketing, and other channels.
- Work with internal and external resources to create compelling marketing content that resonates with our audience.
Demand Generation:
- Build up, own, and drive the entire demand generation process, ensuring our materials reach the right audience via the right channels at the right time.
- Develop and implement account-based marketing tactics primarily through digital channels and events.
- Collaborate with the sales team to align marketing efforts with sales goals and activation strategies.
Community Management and Events:
- Shape our external events & own events strategy to ensure we attend the right industry events with maximum impact and build a cadence of our own onsite events and webinars to enhance our brand presence and thought leadership within the R&D communicate
Key Skills and Qualifications
Experience and Background:
- At least 5 years of start/scaleup experience in a senior marketing role, ideally within deep tech, or an R&D-focused company.
- Strong background in account-based marketing (ABM) and understand the complexities of the enterprise sales cycle to align marketing efforts to support sales goals.
- Experience with demand generation, including digital marketing tactics and lead conversion in an enterprise sales environment with contract values of 6 & 7 figures
- Excellent copywriting and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to produce high-quality marketing content.
- Comfortable with working with analysts & scientists to create thought leadership initiatives and content
- Strong leadership skills with the ambition and ability to develop & mentor a marketing team.

- Result-Driven; You excel in developing and executing marketing efforts that deliver measurable results. You are not afraid to experiment to achieve this
- Strong Communicator and Collaborator; Excellent English, strong communicator with exceptional copywriting and editing skills. Collaborates effectively with internal and external stakeholders to create and execute cohesive marketing campaigns.
