GEHECO
Intern: Heat exchange performance prediction
Are you passionate about technology and the environment? Our start-up in the green tech industry (heat pumps) is seeking enthusiastic individuals eager to gain hands-on experience and make a difference in the world of sustainable technology.
Problem statement
The energy collected from the soil is highly depending on the different layers of soil the heat exchanger is in. When combining the heat exchange model and the public available geotechnical data it should be possible to predict the performance of a certain heat exchanger on a specific area in the Netherlands.
Key Responsibilities / What you will do:
- Develop and create a tool to predict the performance of a GEHECO heat exchanger;pragmatically create a tool, including user interface, to combine the available heat exchange model with geotechnical data.
- Validate the tool; you validate the tool with actual performance data.
- Collaboration; we are a small team where every individual counts. We need your analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to improve our product and drive our projects forward.
- Engage in problem-solving exercises, learn by doing on a daily basis and contribute fresh perspectives to the development of the GEHECO product.
What you bring:
- You are a pragmatic and enthusiastic individual pursuing a Master degree in Engineering.
- You are in your 3rd or 4th year, with at least an average grading of 8 (out of 10).
- Passion for making things work. Your practical talent to create a real, working prototype is what counts most in this assignment. You have a passion for making stuff work. Being able to analyze your work and come up with rapid solutions to improve it.
- Pragmatism; GEHECO needs a pragmatic approach from all team members. A sense to distinguish between relevant and non-relevant issues is important to move forward quickly .
- Skills; You have to have knowledge of relevant software for this task.
- Enthusiasm; all team members are ready to step in when capacity is needed to make sure that all jobs are done at the end of the day, for example helping out during field tests
- You are legally allowed to work in the Netherlands (EU resident or work permit)
Your personality:
- You are flexible and able to cope with the uncertainties (and freedom!) of working at a start-up. Plans may change overnight; structures are not yet firmly in place. You need to deliver on the goal, but how you do it is very much up to you.
