Who we are

At Hydryx, we’re turning landfills into climate solutions. Landfills are one of the biggest blind spots in climate tech. They leak methane, one of the most potent greenhouse gases, into the atmosphere for decades. We think that’s fixable.‍

Founded in 2023, Hydryx builds technology that makes landfill gas systems work like they should. We replace outdated, manual infrastructure with fully automated systems. Our platform combines on-site sensors, real-time monitoring, and an AI-driven control algorithm to capture more gas, reduce emissions, and generate clean power.‍

The entire stack is built in-house; hardware, software, cloud, and installed directly in the field. No assumptions, no black boxes. Just better control, better outcomes, and a real path to decarbonizing waste.

‍And honestly, the fact that this sector isn’t “sexy” is exactly why it’s so interesting to us. It’s overlooked, underserved and full of low-hanging climate wins.‍

We’re based in Amsterdam, scaling fast, and hiring. If you want to work on real-world climate problems, ones you can see, touch, and fix, come build with us.

Your role

You are the sales engine at Hydryx. Not part of it, the engine itself. You build our commercial motor from the ground up: proposition, pipeline, playbook, and eventually the team that runs it. You work shoulder-to-shoulder with both founders, with a mandate that most growth roles only promise: decide where we play, how we win, and what we build next.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and own Hydryx's entire sales engine

  • Find and win new leads and just as important: land and expand at strategic customers, growing first deals into long-term, multi-site relationships

  • Build, tweak, and iterate our proposition per region until it lands. What works in one market won't copy-paste to the next, and you treat that as a feature

  • Own market entry: from first analysis to first customer

  • Work closely with our country managers and local partners with boots on the ground in dedicated markets; you arm them with strategy, materials, and momentum

  • Once the engine runs, hire and lead the sales team that scales it

  • Operate as the founders' commercial right hand: direct lines, short loops, full transparency

  • Set up pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting so founders always know where we stand

Who you are

  • 2-4 years in B2B sales, business development, or growth. Ideally in a scale-up or founding-sales role where you built rather than inherited

  • Proven full-cycle closer: you've hunted, pitched, negotiated, and signed, not just managed accounts

  • Resilient: cold outreach means hearing "no" often, you treat it as data

  • Experience entering new markets or segments is a strong plus; international experience even more so

  • You've worked with modern sales tooling and love it; Claude, Attio (or similar CRM) and automation tools

  • Deal-hungry in the best way: persistent without being pushy, always moving conversations toward a close

  • Ambitious with patience: you want to lead a team, and you know the fastest route there is proving the engine works first

  • Ideally fluent in multiple languages

What we offer

  • Work that matters. You’ll build systems that capture landfill methane, turn it into energy, and cut one of the world’s biggest climate problems down to size. Real tech, deployed in the real world

  • Amsterdam as home base. We’re building both a product and a team, and for that you need to be in the room part of the week. How you manage that balance is up to you, but collaboration happens fastest in person.

  • Upside that’s real. We offer a competitive salary, growth opportunities, and meaningful stock options, because if we win, you should share in the value created‍

  • Ownership from day one. The learning curve is steep, the feedback is direct, and we’ll throw as much responsibility at you as you can handle. It’s simple: the more you raise the standard, the more trust and ownership you earn

  • Good times included. From free daily healthy lunches and Friday beers to team dinners and a ski trip in February, we work hard, but we also make time to celebrate the ride together
