About Us
QuantWare is the world's leading manufacturer of superconducting quantum hardware. As a high growth start-up with a global customer base, our mission is to accelerate the advent of the quantum computer. We push the boundaries of what's possible in our field. We work on making the world’s largest quantum processors, as fast as possible.
At QuantWare, we’re not just producing quantum hardware for the hyperscalers of tomorrow; we’re working on technology that will change the world. To make that ambition a reality, we need exceptional people who drive real impact. That’s where you come in.
As an Experimental Physicist in our R&D team, your work will be critical to advancing the scalability and performance of superconducting quantum processors. You will be part of our research efforts for 3D integration for superconducting qubits. By developing nonreciprocal superconducting circuits, such as isolators and parametric amplifiers, you will enhance qubit readout accuracy, reduce noise, and improve the overall stability of quantum systems.
You will be part of a team advancing the cutting-edge quantum technologies by developing the next generation of quantum readout modules and increasing qubit performance through material research. Through close collaboration with experimentalists and device engineers, your research-driven innovations will bridge the gap between theoretical advancements and practical, scalable quantum systems.
Collaboration is at the core of this role. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate experimental results into the quantum device design cycle, directly influencing the development of next-generation quantum hardware. Your contributions will be essential in meeting our technical and product milestones, ensuring QuantWare remains at the forefront of quantum computing innovation.
What You’ll Be Doing
-
Design and conduct device characterization experiments, aiming to advance quantum hardware in terms of performance and scalability, such as
Research towards 3d integration and scalability of quantum devices.
Contribute to the development of high-fidelity qubit readout modules. Develop and optimize measurement protocols for nonreciprocal superconducting circuits, including isolators, and parametric amplifiers, focusing on the noise properties, gain, bandwidth, and isolation.
Increase qubit performance through material research, increasing coherence and 2q gate performance through reduced TLS losses.
Analyze and interpret experimental data, identifying key trends to guide further development of superconducting quantum technologies.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate experimental results into quantum device design cycles.
Your Profile
While we understand the perfect candidate might not exist, if you check most of the boxes below, we’d love to hear from you:
MSc in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (bonus points for a Phd)
Research experience in quantum systems or cryogenic measurements (2+ years in Industry or Academia)
Experience in Python programming for experiment automation
Experience in operating superconducting circuits or similar quantum systems
Knowledge of nonreciprocal superconducting circuits / parametric amplifiers / advanced readout techniques are considered a plus
